Definition

The You Might Be a Constructivist If Inventory is an informal assessment that consists of two parts: 1) a brief questionnaire to help you identify your views and 2) a grid upon which you plot a subtler, more detailed picture of your views.

Purpose and Goal

There are many different theories of learning, and it is easy to be overwhelmed by the sheer amount of information about them. However, understanding the different learning theories and considering which best aligns with our views can inform your teaching.

This inventory is intended to help you identify your own views of learning and where they fall within the primary existing theoretical frameworks. Identifying your theoretical stance can also help you express your views to others. Taking this inventory may help you better understand your views about learning and best direct your teaching efforts going forward.
