Definition
The Edumyths Diagnostic is an informal quiz intended to help you identify your understanding of current “edumyths,” or common beliefs about teaching and learning.Purpose and Goal
We want students to learn as much as they can in our courses. Unfortunately, many of us have misunderstandings about learning that prevent us from making the best possible pedagogical decisions. In particular, many myths about teaching and learning are easy to believe, but believing them means that we have misconceptions and faulty information that can affect our ability to best enable student learning. The Edumyths Diagnostic is designed to provide you with a way to self-check your knowledge base and understanding of teaching and learning. It provides insight into your current level of pedagogical content knowledge, which is the specialized knowledge that teachers need to be engaged and effective teachers. Taking this diagnostic can help you identify gaps and misunderstandings in your knowledge base so that you can take steps to fill or correct them.Activity Link
