When you are choosing what students will do during the semester, have you ever wondered whether you are assigning too much or too little work? Finding an appropriate workload balance for students can be a real challenge. And surprisingly, little research about the amount of time it takes the average college student to complete common academic tasks exists.
Rice University, however, has a tool that can help. Their Course Workload Estimator takes into account estimates for reading rates and writing rates. Take a look at the Estimator at the following URL: http://cte.rice.edu/workload/
