About this Activity Set

If you've not yet done so, watch the intro video for this activity set, Implementing Collaborative Learning.

Definition

This prompt, Best of Times/Worst of Times, asks you to describe your experience with collaborative learning, both the positive and the negative.

Purpose and Goal

Collaborative learning can be challenging to plan and implement effectively. Its success depends heavily on the cooperation of many people in different roles. Most educators and students have had both very unsuccessful and successful collaborative learning experiences. Few instructors, however, have time to reflect on what makes them different.

This activity prompts you to consider what creates successful collaboration in the classroom. In reflecting on your prior experiences, you’ll be better prepared to apply what you’ve learned to your future collaborative efforts
